So, I’m a teacher. And before you say, “Ew! I thought he talked about food” and leave, allow me a moment to explain myself.
I have two degrees in theater and a minor in music. I’m what you might call, “artsy”. But not in a bad or weird way….I hope. I teach history mostly and have some fine arts classes that I do as well. More on all that at another time.
Today was a Wednesday. In teacher talk that translates into : school night. In Christian talk that translates into: church. It also happens that this week is the last review before finals at school. The kids are freaking out, everyone is tired, the teachers are stressed, and this just in: Santa isn’t real. What could possibly be the solution to such chaos and woe? Food, of course!
I have a simple philosophy that has served me well over the years: there are very few situations that cannot be improved by the presence of great food. The students at school have been working so diligently. I thought it only fitting to reward them with yummy bakes goods. Some of you are thinking: Oreos and a bag of chips. Not this guy. At 830pm I began baking. On a school night.
I made white chocolate dipped pretzels with mini m&m’s sprinkled on them, peanut brittle, and peanut butter cookies with Reese peanut butter cup pieces.
I finished somewhere around 11:30pm.
Crazy, you say? Obsessed, you say? Tired, you say? Yes, yes, and yes.
It’s food. It’s really all about food…….mostly.
You are crazy as a loon. Probably why we get along. 🙂
This is the best blog entry yet. #1- Yes, you are weird but not in a bad way. In a perfectly wonderful weird way! 😉 #2. You are right. Food makes everything better! For real. 😦
