Chocolate Cup Cakes with Cream Filling

Chocolate Cup Cakes with Cream Filling

I secretly don’t like cake. I guess that makes it no longer a secret. Tragedy. Ok, I should clarify: I don’t like most cakes. They are bland, dry, boring, and primarily can be classified as simply “sweet”. (I’m not here to champion savory cakes; they have their place, but not at a party.)
These cupcakes are in fact chocolate with a wonderful cream filling made of marshmallow fluff, butter, and vanilla. A chocolate ganache tops these chocolate temptations.
The white stripes are made by piping the cream filling over the cup cake tops in very thin lines. Using a toothpick, I drew lines through the icings in alternate directions. They are shiny, chocolaty, and lovely.
