Godzilla Cake

I made this cake for a kids birthday. They simply said, “We want a Godzilla cake”. So I made this. The cake is a basic sponge cake made with self-rising flour. It was dense, but very moist and flavorful. The building is from rice crispies covered in fondant. Godzilla was made from a base of rice crispies, but his upper body was made of tootsie rolls. I heated the tootsie rolls until they were pliable, and shaped them into arms, head, tail, and torso. His scales are fondant, cut out individually, layered one at a time, and hand-painted with shades of green for depth.
It was a big hit at the party. 🙂
